FAQs
Got a question? You’re probably not the first – check out our FAQs for quick, handy answers.
What spaces will I share with others?
We all share some spaces like the lounge, kitchen, and bathroom. The adults who support you are here to help keep these spaces clean and tidy, but it’s important that everyone helps by cleaning and tidying up after themselves. The adults who support you will also check regularly to make sure everything is clean, safe, and working
well. If you notice something that needs fixing or extra cleaning, just let one of the adults know – they’ll make sure it’s taken care of. Remember, this is your home, you’re free to relax in the lounge. There’s lots to enjoy, like books, games, art supplies, TVs, and even Netflix. While you have fun, let’s all be considerate of each other, keeping a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
Can I enter the adults’ workspace?
Just like you, the adults who support you need their own private space. They have their office and sleep room, which are off-limits to young people. This is to ensure that everyone’s information stays private and confidential.
If you ever need help from the adults who support you, you can always knock on their office or sleep room door and wait for them to answer. They’re here to help you, and this way, we can make sure your information stays private while you get the support you need.
Will I have internet and phone access?
We understand how important it is to stay connected. You’ll have internet access at home through broadband. To set it up, just scan the QR code or ask any member of the support team to help you connect your devices.
You’ll also need a phone to keep in touch with your support network, which may include family, friends, your social worker, and your keyworker. If you don’t
have a phone or if yours isn’t working, don’t worry. We have a house phone available for you to use, especially for those important calls.
While phones are a great way to stay connected, it’s important to use them responsibly. The adults who support you may talk to you about phone use if there are any concerns, such as how it affects your routine, safety, or relationships with others. They’re here to help you with any challenges and make sure you feel supported.
How will I be supported with education, employment, or training?
We are committed to helping you achieve your educational and employment goals, ensuring you have access to the right opportunities to support your development. If you are already attending school or college, we will work with you to maintain this routine and ensure a smooth continuation of your education.
If you need to transition to a new school, we will support you in finding a suitable one locally and assist you in settling in. Your home will include a dedicated workstation where you can study, complete homework, or engage in activities related to your education. You will also have access to devices such as a tablet or laptop to assist with your learning and coursework.
How will my culture and religion be supported?
We really value your culture and religion. We’re all about celebrating diversity and have strict rules against any kind of racism or discrimination. If there are ever any concerns about these things, we legally must address them.
